He was here! His son had finally come back to his territory, and Jeffos’ blood lust was raging beneath his skin.

“Warguard, to me!” He stalked through the building, calling for his Alphas, and they came running.

Obedient. Eager to follow his command. Exactly the way a Warguard should.

They were everything his son wasn’t.

Chadrick must have flushed him out. Perhaps he would not kill the male after all. He might even let the captain keep the Omega he was so fond of.

“Alpha, what about those of us guarding—”

“All of you! Everyone, to me.” He didn’t look at the guard who had run up before answering. All of them. He needed all of them. There was a battle, and this time, he was not missing out on it.

Morpheus had let Jordan escape the last time, and Jeffos had learned his lesson. This time, nothing would be left to chance—he would take care of the issue himself. He didn’t care if he had to empty the entire stronghold to do it.

Something niggled at the back of his brain, and he growled under his breath.

Turning his head slightly to the right, he addressed the Alpha just behind him. He could not remember the male’s name. It was unimportant, anyway.

“Go… close and lock all the gates.” They would hold until he could return. Only he knew all the secrets of his stronghold. There were secret passages and traps no one else knew about. Even if someone got in, they would find nothing but death inside the walls. “Return when it is done.”

The other Alpha peeled off with a nod, running to do Jeffos’ bidding. Satisfaction welled inside the Warlord.

Finally, everything would be put to right.
